"Patient" or "Client"?

American Medical Association (AMA) CPT® Code descriptors for adaptive behavior services use the term "patient" to describe the recipient of services. However, the ABA community typically refers to service recipients as "clients."

The CASP Session Note Templates retain the term "patient" in the code descriptors for consistency with the AMA. The term "client" is used throughout the remainder of the template and the associated guidance.
